On RelationshipsInsofar as we experience and respond to perceived reality, we respond to other as it is constructed in perceived reality. Thus, our interactions with other as it exists in perceived reality is in response to the image, or representation, of other we have constructed derived from our needs, expectations, and what is perceived and interpreted. Inasmuch, we form interactions between self and the image of other. Such interactions form a relation; however, such relationships consequently exist between self and image rather than self and other proper. It is important to note that relations and thus relationships exist between separate parts. That is, separation is necessary for one to have a relationship with another. We would not assert that an object has a relationship with itself; rather, a relationship is between objects. Insofar as we do not know ourselves fully and totally, we form a representation of ourselves in mind within perceived reality. As such, relations formed in and experienced by the mind are between two representations, that of our self and of other. Consequently, we find that the very relationships we are experiencing do not actually exist separately from our experience of it as a construct of the mind. Furthermore, relationships experienced exist between images rather than self and other proper. Only when other and self are one in Self, can we exist as the relationship, as both self and other. Through our efforts in developing self awareness, may we achieve self-realization. In such realization, may we further embody the Divine as Self and lose self as ego.
